House Beautiful

By: Coral & Tusk

In a dream-come-true moment, Stephanie Housley's Wyoming home was featured in the November 2020 Issue of House Beautiful produced by interiors legend Robert Rufino. Writer Emma Bazilian interviewed Stephanie about the move from NYC to Wyoming, the home's history, and decor. Some excerpts from the article on finding their dream space:

“We were both aching for more access to open spaces, fresh air, and wildlife,” says Housley, who owns decor-and-textile brand Coral & Tusk. She and Lacinak considered buying a house in one of the usual spots near the city but couldn’t help but imagine themselves out west—in Wyoming, specifically. Housley had always loved it there (“my parents took me to Grand Teton and Yellowstone when I was young; and when my husband and I were still teenagers, we came here on a road trip”), and after a return visit years later, she was still dreaming of it—literally.

"It's as close to true wilderness as you can get; there are definitely no amenities!"

“Even in the depths of winter, it feels open and light in here,” says Stephanie Housley of the A-frame home in rural Wyoming where she and her husband live year-round."

Her 3 little bears moment:

"A lot of the older ones [cabins] were dark and needed a lot of maintenance, and the newer ones were very cookie-cutter. I didn't want something that felt like a novelty."

On decorating a log cabin:

"You quickly realize your old tricks don't work without drywall!....You don't need a lot on the walls when you already have such an ornate backdrop."
