Author Scott Weidensaul discusses migratory birds on an episode of Fresh Air. He talks about how most birds complete their migration during the night, the incredible ways their bodies can change during migration and all the ways they’ve been forced to adapt in modern times. 

 Since 1970, roughly 30% of North American birds have disappeared; that’s more than 3 billion birds. This spring, consider participating in the Lights Out program by dimming your lights to reduce bird collisions. Learn more about Lights Out via the Audubon Society.

LEARN text

Learn how to repair your clothing in an online workshop hosted by Repair Shop. Based in Brooklyn, Repair Shop is run by two friends, Rachel and Sam, who host monthly darning workshops. Not only will you learn how to repair holes in your garments, but you will gain an understanding of the history of mending and the importance of repairing vs replacing.
