Coral & Tusk Nursery Tour

Greetings from Bobby’s World! We live on the second floor of a Brooklyn brownstone. Welcoming a baby into an NYC apartment is tricky when it comes to renegotiating how to use your small space. Unlike many new parents, we did not decorate our nursery until Bobby was seven months old. The 72 square foot room that is now Bobby’s held many uses prior to transforming into a nursery (art studio, wfh office, guest room, mother-in-law suite - just to name a few ☺.) While it would have been infinitely easier to have the nursery ready before the baby arrived, it was actually pretty fun decorating for the sweet, active little guy we had already gotten to know and love!

Coral & Tusk Nursery Pocket Pillows

With under 100 square feet, we decided to go a minimalist route in terms of furniture for the nursery. A rocker was essential for us, but we ultimately skipped the ottoman to save space. Coral & Tusk buckets have been great for storage and adding charm and color.

We added two 12" x 16" pillows to the rocker which are great smaller sized pillows that fit in most chairs. We have the Boats pillow in fun primary colors (similar version available) and the sweet Bluebird Nest pocket pillow to represent our family.

Coral & Tusk Alphabet Crib Quilt

We chose a full-size crib over a mini-crib with hopes that it would have a longer lifespan as this one converts into a toddler bed. The room is tied together with light blue walls, a paper shade, and a wool rug. The crib pocket holds bedtime stories and a Coral & Tusk Tooth Fairy Fox Doll

Open shelving with Coral & Tusk artwork

Once all of the necessary parts of the nursery came together, we had fun installing wall shelves to display beloved toys, books, artwork and collections!
