Mountain Living April 2025

We always look to Mountain Living to keep us informed on the beautiful interiors, art, and architecture of the region where Coral & Tusk founder and designer Stephanie Housley lives, so it was especially exciting for us to be featured this month!

Writer Chase Reynolds Ewald interviewed Stephanie about the new book published by Rizzoli, In Stitches: The Enchanted World of Coral & Tusk, diving into her creative inspirations.

Below are a few of our favorite pulls from the article, and be sure to pore over the full piece on Mountain Living!

From Mountain Living: - For the artist, the book represents both the realization of a dream and a full circle moment. "I've done more than 3,000 designs in 16 years, but they're on pillows and table linens," Housley explains. Even if you're a collector, you're not going to have room in your house or want to have all those things. A book is an opportunity to focus on the designs themselves, rather than products. And it hearkens back to the beginning when I was so interested in drawing with thread."

Nothing beats a good gift guide, but an animal-themed one? Say no more!
We were thrilled when Wirecutter editor Hannah Morrill featured our embroidered cards in the February newsletter and website!

"Animal embroidery is a sub-genre of my infatuation...And while they’re technically sold as cards, these cheeky predators and honey bear prints are truly works of art. I framed the one a friend sent me nearly a decade ago and it still hangs, vibrant and eye-catching, in my son’s bedroom. — Hannah

Martha Stewart November 2024
Two great picks from Martha Stewart for gifts and holiday hosting!

Our love for Martha runs deep - her magazine was one of the first to champion Coral & Tusk with a magazine feature all the way back in 2013 (you can read about that on our first 10 years of Coral & Tusk blog) and of course we all love the recent documentary, it's a must watch! So when we saw that they listed our new book, In Stitches: The Enchanted World of Coral & Tusk, at #1 in their online article "27 Gifts that Martha Stewart Editors Can't Wait To Give This Year" we were delighted to say the least.

"You may have seen the charming embroidery of Coral & Tusk gracing dish towels, pillows, and other home goods—think fine needlework displaying a woodsy wonderland of flora and fauna. Thankfully, the mastermind behind the brand, artist Stephanie Housley, has created a book sharing her life's work of drawing and embroidery. It is a gorgeous gift perfect for craftspeople, nature lovers, artists, designers, and home enthusiasts of all ages. And get this: The cover is actually embroidered, so your recipient gets a book and a piece of art at the same time." —Melissa Breyer, Editorial Director

Check our their thoughtful gift guide and view and purchase our book on our website, on Amazon, or at your favorite bookseller!

A few days later, editors also featured our Arctic Tree Tea Towel for a host gift! In the 32 Gifts Editors Love to Bring to the Host of a Party, Cris Pearlstein and Wendy Rose Gould write, "We love a selection like this tea towel, which would be ridiculously charming wrapped around a bottle of bubbly." Be the best gifter and treat your host to a tea towel and a bottle of their favorite drink and tell them it was Martha's idea!
