Our Pocket Dolls are fully embroidered on both sides, with a front and a back. Each doll carries a small accessory that is stored in a pocket on the doll and is unique to their individual personality. We currently have five animals in the Pocket Doll lineup, but over the years, we have welcomed all kinds of different animals.

We first introduced the Pocket Dolls in 2012 with 4 original characters: Fox, Bear, Owl, and Rabbit. Three of these animals are still in our line today! (We miss you, Rabbit!) When Stephanie first came up with the idea for the Pocket Doll it was from a desire to make a small embroidered object. “I was inspired to make doll-size animals because I wanted an object to hold in my hands that felt reminiscent of how a doll feels when you are little.” writes Stephanie.

Over the years, we’ve added to our Pocket Doll cast, including a Tiger, Wolf, Raccoon, and Panda doll. A few years ago we even collaborated with Japanese illustrator Yoriko Hoshi to design a Nekomura-san Pocket Doll. It’s fun to see these embroidered animals come to life and imagine what their hobbies and homes are like.
Which brings us to one of our favorite things about the Pocket Dolls: their personality cards! Each Pocket Doll comes with a card that details their favorite things. Here are a few from our current line of Pocket Dolls:
Our Pocket Dolls have also traveled the world! From visits to US National Parks all the way to Japan, the Pocket Dolls have accompanied Stephanie and our team on many trips. Since the dolls are small (but not too small that they will be misplaced!) and soft, they pack well in any suitcase or backpack. We can’t wait to see where the dolls will be off to next!
