Behind The Design
To celebrate our book "In Stitches: The Enchanted World of Coral & Tusk" we created a limited edition design, the Mushroom House! Our Mushroom Forest embroidery comes to life as a miniature home stitched with enchanting details and surprises. The mushroom cap is crafted from vermilion orange felt. Peek inside the circular windows and see the fanciful interior with mushroom lamps and chandeliers, along with supplies for gardening and adventure. The base of the mushroom is stitched inside and out. Squirrel, fox, and rabbit forage for morels among ferns and flowers.
Light up the Mushroom House with your own electric tea light, not included. Do not use open flame candles.
Measures 13.25" × 8.5".
Attention to Detail
The Mushroom House begins first as a felt prototype mock-up by Stephanie in her studio. Working closely with our partners in India, Stephanie then confirms the size and shape of each panel that would construct the final house. Once she knows the measurement of each piece required to construct the final products, she draws the embroidered configurations. It can take up to twelve hours for all of the panels of the house to be embroidered on a machine, overseen by a skilled operator who manually changes threads each time the color changes. Once the embroidery is completed, an additional four hours is required to assemble and sew each house together.
