Donation Pledge: Environmental Education & Engagement

This week for our Eight Weeks of Giving Donation Pledge we are donating $1,500.00 to the Greening Youth Foundation (GYF). GYF engages underrepresented Black youth and young adults in the outdoors. Learn more about GYF’s work below and consider donating directly if you have the means! You can learn more about our Giving Pledge via our first blog post in this series here.

GYF’s mission is to engage under-represented youth and young adults, while connecting them to the outdoors and careers in conservation. GYF’s cultural based environmental education program engages children from local communities and exposes them to healthy lifestyle choices in order to create an overall healthy community.

GYF partners with environmental organizations including the National Park Service, USDA Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and others to provide challenging, interesting and life changing internship opportunities to talented students and young adults from diverse backgrounds. These experiences open doors for a new generation of environmentalists and conservationists.

Here at Coral & Tusk, nature is central to all we create! The great outdoors inspires our designs, our practices, and serves as a necessary outlet to us on a personal level. Our Pinedale, WY office is in close proximity to pristine wilderness that every member of our team has had the opportunity to enjoy. We believe wholeheartedly that this opportunity, to experience nature in a safe and delightful way, should be extended to everyone.

The work required to curb climate change includes environmental justice, access to clean air and water is a basic human right. We’ve included links to organizations, articles, books and more that dive deep on why anti-racism is central to protecting our planet.
