Year in Review: 2021 Highlights!

Thank you for another incredible year! Today we’re sharing our 2021 highlights all of which were made possible by your continued business and enthusiasm! Thank you so much for your support! Here’s what we accomplished this year and what we’re looking forward to in 2022.

The beginning of the year marked the launch of our Spring collection! This year we brought blooming flowers, sweet Easter bunnies, baby animals, and colorful songbirds into your homes. To celebrate our new designs we donated a portion of weekend sales on two different occasions to City Harvest and Black Girls with Gardens, and we spent some time researching pollinators and how we can help protect them.

In May, we started a donation pledge, committing 1% of 2021’s sales to pandemic relief efforts and humanitarian causes in India. Now at the end of the year, we’ve donated $9,000.00 to Covid relief funds on Give India, India’s largest and most trusted fundraising platform. We also contributed $9,000.00 to Project Nanhi Kali, one of India’s largest programs that enables underprivileged girls to complete 10 years of schooling.

We wrapped up Spring with new Mother’s Day designs and another donation pledge! In May, we pledged to donate 10% of 2021 profits from our Songbirds collection to the National Audubon Society.

To usher in summer we added our Behind the Design videos to our website and shared the inspiration for our Coastal collection! Stephanie filmed the videos in the place that inspired her designs, the beach!

In July, we launched new additions to our Nekomura san collaboration! The collection included a new pillow, pouch, badge, apron and more! . Each piece featured original illustrations by Yoriko Hoshi with embroidered stitches drawn by Coral & Tusk designer Stephanie Housley.

Then in August we donated $10,000 to Women for Women International in response to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. Women for Women International has been involved in Afghanistan since 2002, providing support and healthcare to 127,000 women in five provinces.

A major highlight for our team this summer was participating in a 10K run as part of the Pinedale Half Marathon. Our entire Wyoming team completed the run, including Stephanie who ran the full half marathon! We’re so proud of them!

As fall set in, we wrapped up September with a special hat collaboration with JW Bennett, an independent hatmaker based in Jackson Hole. Our feathers appear on hatbands in their newest artist exclusive collection, available here!

Stephanie designed our fall collection in the spring and our Brooklyn team photographed our designs in the summer, by fall the new collection was ready for YOU! This year’s collection included our first ever Halloween series, pocket pillows that celebrated Autumn, and our merriest Christmas collection yet! Thanks to everyone who purchased a new fall design and made this one of our favorite collections to date.

In October, along with the launch of our first Halloween collection, we were lucky to collaborate with Vintage by Crystal, a dream come true! After admiring Crystal’s work for years it felt so special to collaborate with her on Halloween pieces.

In November, Stephanie realized a long-term goal of creating large scale embroidered textiles! Her two pieces, Great Grey Owl and Roseate Spoonbill, were part of an exhibition at Roll & Hill in New York City, they are on view through 2022! This December we collaborated with Vintage by Crystal on a Christmas collection and Stephanie’s home was featured in Sunset Magazine’s Winter in the West issue!

For Giving Tuesday we fulfilled our Songbirds pledge and donated a total $2,500.00 to the National Audubon Society. We recapped all of our donations on Giving Tuesday, read more about them here!

Next year we look forward to bringing more cheer to your home and continuing to contribute to causes and organizations in line with our values. We can’t wait to see you all in 2022!
